Biography

Benin musician Anna Tèko , born on September 15 1982 in Lokossa Benin, is a Beninese singer-songwriter of Afro- gospel. She has been singing since the age of 4 both on stage and on various musical productions in Benin in the years 1986.

Winner of several national and international prizes and distinctions, she released her first solo album in August 2010 entitled Ta douce voice and totals in 2021 five albums. Anna Tèko has grown up since her early childhood in the musical world because her mother and her brothers and sisters are all musicians.

She stands out at many festivals in Benin and in the sub-region, notably in her song entitled Vaccinez-vous! , produced by UNICEF , which served as support for a vaccination campaign.

In 1998, she recorded an album entitled Irikpe , which means God with the Tekstars, a gospel group composed mainly of her brothers and sisters. That same year, she hosted the 50th  anniversary festivities of the World HealthOrganization in Geneva.

The following year, inMay 1999, she participated in a musical comedy for the general public Terre des rois, Terre d'ébène by François Houessou. This musical will also be the subject of an album entitled So Long . She continued to play until 2000 in many musicals, particularly The Sacred Forest written by her older brother Just Tèko, also an artist-singer-composer.

Between 2000 and 2001, she was a central character in a 50-minute documentary Anna l'enchantée directed by Monique Phoba and selected in competition at FESPACO 2001.October 7, 2002, she made a duet with the artist Lokua Kanza during a concert entitled Children at the heart of NEPAD .

In 2006 she released a single for Christian unity entitled Reconciliation, for the promotion of peace in Africa and Benin.

In August 2009, she revealed herself to the West Indian public during the concert le chant des syrenes , as well as in the television program Pays d'artistes and created the same year a choir entitled Afro-Gospel to highlight African and West Indian gospel.

In August 2010, she released her first solo album titled Ta douce voix produced by José Versol
