Biography

Benin musician Dibi Dobo born in Benin, is an Author, composer, and performer, he sings in Fon (on of the most spoken languages in Benin, West Africa), in French, and in English.

Fascinated by music since his early childhood, it was only later that he recognized his passion and decided to embark publicly on this path. As a teenager, he began to sing in class. 

He then met several young rappers, with whom he formed the group Def Lyrix in 2003 3 . The group will release a maxi of 5 titles with the eponymous title (which will pass on the Beninese radio channels) between Seed Prod and the Skool Skull. 

Until 2006, Def Lyrix participated in numerous underground scenes and performances during cultural days. But the members of the group will be dispersed to the four corners of the world. Dibi Dobo then embarks on the solo route.

In 2009, Dibi Dobo released the singles Gomé and Ezo. The same year, he won the Rap Enough Cry contest, a hip hop contest launched by Shinny A., a Beninese artist residing in London.

In 2009, he shot the clip Wini Wini with Boss Playa and the clip for Mahu directed by Cartouche and edited by the Ivorian Killer. He received the prize for the best single of the year 2009 at the R&R Awards, the greatest honor for rap and rnb in Benin; an event that precedes the Hip Hop Kankpé Festival.

In August 2009, Dibi Dobo opened for Sheryfa Luna 's concert in Abidjan, Ivory Coast . From 2009, he began his collaboration with the Nouvelle Donne Music label , which was headed by Kodjo Hougbeme. At the end of summer 2009, he was on stage at the Festival Y'ello Summer 2009 and in December, he sold out the Hall des Arts de Cotonou.

In April 2010, he was nominated for the Kora Awards 2010 in Ouagadougou , in the revelation category. In May, her album Soyimavo was officially released . He can also be found on the set of the program “Saturday evening is Show” in Benin.

He gave a live ray of sunshine hip hop concert at the Hall des Arts, then he started a tour in Gabon at the beginning of August: VIP Night Club, Pakito Café, Hollywood Café and Warhol Night Club in Libreville, a tour organized by Baron Prod. We then find him in Côte d'Ivoire in the program Tempo with DJ Arafat , then in Show case at Lifestar in Abidjan and as a guest star of DJ Arafat's Affaire de Yorobo concert at the Palais de la culture in Abidjan
