Scro Q Cuia

Biography

In his interview with Uganda's DJ Erycom, Angolan artist Scró Q Cuia  initially said that he started singing at the behest of his friend and colleague Elastico Nandako, and that his talent for dancing was inherited from his mother, who was a great dancer from Lunda Norte. The artist also said that he had a hard start to his career marked by mistreatment and humiliation, but luckily he had the courage and willpower to continue working, fought, created his brand and managed to get where he is today.

Regarding the fact that some people consider his songs and ringtones inappropriate for children and consequently a bad example, the singer was clear in saying: ” It is a lie when they say that my songs and ringtones are bad examples for children, here in Angola that's how they throw stones at you, call you names and much more.

Here, if you want to do or follow something, you have to have courage and willpower because in the absence of these two things you will not go anywhere, because people do everything to discourage you and make you give up”.

Asked about other occupations and about his academic background, Scro Q Kuia said revealingly: “I'm an average technician in clinical analysis, and I actually worked in a laboratory, but at the moment I'm focused on an artistic career”.

As for the success that his songs have had abroad, he said that he is happy for the recognition that foreigners have shown, and that receiving videos of people dancing to his songs, coming from different parts of the world, makes him believe that he is really working.
