Biography

Sèssimè real name Bidossessi Christelle Guédou, born on February 20 , 1984 in Covè in Benin, is a Beninese singer -songwriter and singer. Sèssimè is a name taken from her first name, Bidossèssi, which means “Everything depends on fate”, or even, “Everything is in the hands of God”.

From the age of 13, Sessimè discovered her love for crafts, thanks to her parents, Charles Guédou and Léontine Houndonou, who transmitted to her their love for music and dance while she was young. 

Driven by the great ambition to be an international star like the king of pop Michael Jackson and the African diva Angélique Kidjo, she adopted an Afropop style - rock and zouk with Beninese and Yoruba colors.

Sèssimè participated in various school competitions. Her success on reality TV titled Coca-Cola Star Promo in 2007 is the launch point of her musical career.

Her career really took off on the international level thanks to her second album Wazakoua, released in 2011. In 2012, she was elected Best Female Hope of the African continent at the Kora Awards.
