Biography

Rapper The Kid Laroi is Australia’s sensational export to the world of music. With a mind-boggling 11 million listeners on Spotify each month, this artist is being watched by the music industry closely.

LAROI turned to writing music and lyrics during a dark time in his life. Initially, he was lucky to be mentored by rapper Juice Wrld but LAROI has now come into his own releasing his hit debut mixtape in 2020.

By the young age of 11, The Kid Laroi was writing prolifically and filling notebooks with rap lyrics. Things began to fall in place when a Facebook friend let him use his studio to produce his songs. His freestyle videos slowly started gaining followers. In 2018 limelight fell on him when he became a finalist in Triple J Unearthed competition.

He got a major break when rapper Juice Wrld toured Australia in 2018. Laroi opened for him in his and performed with him during the tour. Juice Wrld took him under his wings, mentored him and Laroi was formally introduced to the world of professional Rap music.

In 2019 Laroi bagged a contract with Columbia Records and Grade A Productions which helped popularise his single Let Her Go. In 2020, Laroi collaborated with Lil Tecca in single, Diva, and then with his mentor Juice Wrld to release Go which turned out to be his breakout single.

Laroi’s songs often arise out of his real-life experiences and feelings, he wrote ‘Tell me Why’ after Juice Wrld died. His mixtape F*ck Love was created after his romantic experience left him hurt. His writing has all the raw passion of a teenager.
